Screen Visibility & Candidate Positioning

  • Arrange seating so that no candidate can view another candidate’s screen.
  • When seating candidates at right angles, leave sufficient distance to prevent line-of-sight to other screens.
  • If using desks without dividers, there must be at least 1.25 m between the edges of adjacent screens.
  • If using desk dividers, the minimum distance may be reduced to 1 m and lecture style desk arrangement is permitted.
  • Where candidates are seated back-to-back, there must be at least 1 m between the backs of pulled out chairs.

Back-to-Back Seating

  • Where candidates are seated back-to-back, there must be at least 1 m between the backs of pulled out chairs.

Invigilator Movement & Supervision

  • Ensure there is sufficient space for invigilators to walk freely between all rows and desks.
  • Screens must remain visible to the invigilator when moving through the room, without obstruction.

Lighting & Glare Control

  • Position screens so that candidates are not facing direct sunlight and no glare appears on the screens.
  • Use blinds, curtains, or screen filters if needed to control light levels.

Power Supply & Cabling

  • Ensure each workstation has a stable power connection.
  • Secure or cover cables to prevent tripping hazards and obstruction.
