Booking a Digital Grades and Diplomas exam – step-by-step guide

Modified on Tue, 20 Oct at 9:03 PM

This guide explains how to book your Digital Grades and Diplomas exam using MyTrinity, Trinity College London's platform for booking and submitting digital exams.

Before starting, you'll need a MyTrinity account. If you haven't already created an account or completed your account profile, see How to book Digital Grades and Diplomas exams with MyTrinity.

See the bottom of this article for guidance videos showing the process for different account profile types.

Ready to book? Sign in to MyTrinity.

Step 1 – Start your booking

Visit the relevant Digital Music or Digital Drama exam page on the Trinity College London website and select Book Now.

You'll be prompted to sign in to MyTrinity or create an account if you haven't already done so.

If you're using MyTrinity for the first time, you may also need to complete your account profile before continuing.

Step 2 – Choose your exam

Select the exam family or product you want to book, such as Classical and Jazz or Rock and Pop.

Make sure you select the correct exam family for your chosen qualification. See Booking the Correct Exam and Grade Level for further information.

Step 3 – Enter your Trinity representative information

You'll be asked whether you've used a Trinity representative when arranging your exam.

If you've used a Trinity representative, enter their referral code.

If you haven't used a Trinity representative, select the option confirming this.

You must complete this step before continuing with your booking.

Step 4 – Select your exam details

Select the relevant exam details, which may include:

  • Grade or diploma level

  • Instrument or exam category

  • Exam pathway, where applicable

Check that you've selected the correct exam before continuing.

Step 5 – Enter the candidate's details

Select an existing candidate or enter the details of the person taking the exam.

You'll need to provide the required candidate information, including their name, date of birth, email address and other details requested during the booking process.

If the candidate is under 18, you'll also need to provide the required parent or legal guardian information.

Step 6 – Provide SEND information, if applicable

If the candidate requires Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) arrangements, select the relevant option during the booking process.

You'll need to upload the required SEND form or supporting evidence before you can continue.

We recommend having this documentation ready before starting your booking. See Requesting Reasonable Adjustments & SEN Arrangements for further information.

Step 7 – Review your booking

Review the information you've entered, including the candidate's details and selected exam.

You'll also need to read and accept the applicable terms and conditions before proceeding.

Step 8 – Apply a voucher, if applicable

If you have a valid re-entry voucher code that can be used for your booking, enter it before proceeding to payment.

Step 9 – Complete payment

Follow the payment instructions to complete your booking.

Payment is processed through Trinity's payment provider, Verifone.

Once payment has been completed, you'll be returned to MyTrinity.

Step 10 – Check your booking confirmation

After successful payment, check that your booking has been confirmed in MyTrinity.

You should also receive a booking confirmation email.

If payment appears to have been taken but your booking isn't confirmed, don't make another payment until the status has been checked.

Booking more than one candidate

If you're booking directly through a Candidate or Parent profile, each booking is limited to one candidate taking a solo exam. Teachers arranging bookings for multiple candidates can use the appropriate Basic Teacher or Advanced Teacher profile.

For more information, see Understanding MyTrinity account profiles .

What happens after booking?

Once your exam has been booked, you can use MyTrinity to manage your digital exam submission.

When available, you'll also be able to access your exam results, reports and available digital certificate information through MyTrinity.
