How do I/my child access the test?
You can access the test by either:
- Scanning the QR sent by the teacher, or
- Opening the test link in your browser.
Once the website opens, enter the key code provided by the teacher to start the test.
What is a key code and how do I access it?
A key code is a unique code created by the teacher for each student. It links the test to the correct student so the correct results are recorded.
When the teacher generates the key code, they should send it to the correct student. If you have not received it, please speak directly to the teacher to ask for it.
What should I do if I didn’t receive the key code?
Contact the teacher and ask them to resend the key code.
What should I do if the key code does not work?
If the keycode does not work, first check for typing errors. If the key code is correct, but it’s still not working, contact the teacher so they can generate a new one.
What devices can be used to complete the test?
The test works on most devices so long as the brower is up to date. There are no specific technical requirements. Phones or tablets usually give the best experience, but you can use a laptop with a microphone
Which browser should I use?
You can use any browser, but it must be the latest version.
What should I do if the microphone or audio is not working?
Make sure your devices volume is turned up. When the test opens, your device should ask for permission to use the microphone – select “Allow”. If you still have issues, try these steps:
- Check your device settings to make sure the microphone and audio are enabled (see Guide).
- For the best experience, use a device less than five years old.
- If the issue continues, try a different device. If it still doesn’t work, let the teacher know.
How long does the test take?
The test takes up to 10 minutes to complete.
Can the test be taken more than once?
A student should only have to take the test once to get an accurate result. A key code will only allow the test to be completed once.
What should I do if the test freezes or crashes during the test?
It’s normal for the test to pause for up to one minute between questions. Wait 30-60 seconds. If it takes longer or the website crashes, restart the test using the same keycode.
Can I pause the test and come back later?
No – the test can’t be paused. Please complete the test in one sitting.
How will I/my child receive the results? Can I see them online?
No – results are not shared with parents or students online. This is a testing tool for teachers, and they will share the results with you if appropriate.
Who should I contact if anything else goes wrong?
If anything else goes wrong, contact the teacher. They will try to solve the issue and can access further support if needed.
Is any personal data being shared with AI companies?
No personal information or data is being shared with any AI large language models (LLMs). Audio transcriptions of speaking during the test are only processed, and no personal data is included in this.
