How to Ask for Support

If a candidate has special educational needs (SEN) requirements, they need to tell their exam centre.
They can also indicate that they need a special educational needs accommodation when confirming their exam enrolment. The exam centre will then be informed about this request.

Support Available

Extra time
Trinity can give extra time if you need special arrangements.

  • This must be requested at least 2 weeks before your test day.

  • You must give evidence for this request by filling in this form

Note: Requests given to exam centre staff on the day of the exam will not be accepted.

Important: A new special needs form must be sent for every exam, even if the candidate had support before.

During the exam, the following adjustments are available to every candidate in the exam platform. No special educational need request needs to be submitted to use them.

Modified Formatting

Enlarged text / Magnifier:
You may use the zoom function on the secure browser to increase the size of text and images. However, please note that the zoom function can distort the layout of the screen and affect the exam experience. This is especially true for the reading tasks. We recommend that you try the zoom function on the example tasks here so that you become familiar with how it impacts the test layout.
Alternatively, you may use an external magnifier. Please note that the use of electronic magnifiers will require prior approval. Please include the make and model of your chosen magnifier in your application.

Colour scheme adjustment:
You can change the colour of the test screen if another colour is easier to read.

  • You can do this at the start of the test or at any time during the test.

  • To change the colour, click on Preferences in the bottom left corner of the screen (showing below the video in the screenshot).

  • You can practise with Preferences before the exam by using the example tasks on the Trinity website.
