Chaperones are required for any candidate under 18 years old.

  • Chaperones are members of the candidate’s household aged 18 or above.
  • Chaperones must be present for exam security checks for all candidates.
  • Chaperones must be present for the entirety of the exam session for all candidates under the aged 12 and under.
  • Chaperones can be present during the exam for candidates aged 13 and above if this is requested to and approved by the centre in advance.

Behavioural guidance for chaperones:

The chair must be positioned behind

the candidate to the left or right

    to the candidate.
