When using MyTrinity, Trinity College London's platform for booking and submitting Digital Grades and Diplomas exams, you'll need to select an account profile that reflects how you intend to use the platform.
Your profile determines which booking and payment options are available to you.
You must be aged 18 or over to create an account with Trinity College London.
Which MyTrinity profile should I choose?
MyTrinity supports different profiles for candidates, parents, teachers and exam centres.
| Profile | Who is it for? |
|---|---|
| Candidate | Candidates booking and paying for their own solo exams. |
| Parent | Parents or guardians booking and paying for solo exams on behalf of candidates. |
| Basic Teacher | Teachers arranging solo exam bookings for candidates or parents to pay for. |
| Advanced Teacher | Teachers who need to pay for eligible exam bookings themselves, manage those bookings or arrange supported pair and group exams. |
| Exam Centre (Staff of) | Registered Trinity exam centres managing bookings through their established centre arrangements. |
Candidate and Parent profiles
- Candidate and Parent profiles allow you to book Digital Grades and Diplomas exams directly through MyTrinity.
- Each booking is limited to one candidate taking a solo exam.
- If you're booking for a candidate under 18, the required parent or legal guardian details must be provided.
- Pair and group exams cannot be booked directly using these profiles.
Basic Teacher profile
A Basic Teacher profile is suitable for teachers who arrange exam bookings but do not need to pay for candidates' exams themselves.
With a Basic Teacher profile, you can:
Arrange eligible solo exam bookings for multiple candidates.
Add candidates individually or through bulk upload, where supported.
Invite candidates or parents to complete their booking confirmation and payment.
View and manage learner and enrolment information available through your profile.
- Each candidate has a separate booking and enrolment for solo exams, even when several candidates are entered together.
- Basic Teacher profiles do not allow teachers to pay for candidates' exams.

Advanced Teacher profile
An Advanced Teacher profile provides additional booking and payment functionality for teachers who need to manage eligible exam bookings themselves.
With an Advanced Teacher profile, you can:
Arrange bookings for multiple candidates.
Choose whether to pay for eligible bookings yourself or allow candidates or parents to pay.
Manage eligible bookings you've paid for and amend exams in some cases.
Arrange supported pair and group exams, where available.
Add candidates through bulk upload, where supported.
Maintain available subject areas and exam suites through Teacher settings.
When setting up an Advanced Teacher profile, you'll be asked to provide additional information, including your relevant subject areas, exam suites, teacher or organisation details, address and billing information where applicable.
Once the profile is set up, a dedicated organisation number is intended to be displayed in MyTrinity.
Please note: An Advanced Teacher profile does not make you a registered Trinity exam centre.
Advanced Teacher profiles are available only for supported markets and exam products.
Basic Teacher or Advanced Teacher – which should I choose?
The main difference is who can pay for the exams and manage the resulting bookings.
| Feature | Basic Teacher | Advanced Teacher |
|---|---|---|
| Arrange solo exam bookings | Yes | Yes |
| Arrange bookings for multiple candidates | Yes | Yes |
| Candidates or parents pay | Yes | Yes |
| Teacher pays for exams | No | Yes |
| Bulk upload candidates | Where supported | Where supported |
| Book supported pair or group exams | No | Where available |
| Manage eligible teacher-paid bookings including making amendments | No | Yes |
| Dedicated organisation number | No | Yes |
If you only need to arrange solo exam bookings for candidates or parents to pay for, a Basic Teacher profile may be sufficient.
If you wish to pay for candidates' exams yourself or arrange supported pair and group bookings, you'll need an Advanced Teacher profile, where available.
Can I change from a Basic Teacher to an Advanced Teacher profile?
Yes. If you already have a Basic Teacher profile, you can upgrade to an Advanced Teacher profile where this option is available.
Go to your profile and you will find the option to upgrade. When you do this you will need to complete the additional profile setup and provide the required teacher or organisation information as well as sign up to some terms and conditions.
You do not need to create a new MyTrinity account to upgrade your existing teacher profile.
Please note: There is no self-service option to change an Advanced Teacher profile back to a Basic Teacher profile. Please Contact Trinity Support if you wish to do this.

What if I've previously used MyTrinity?
If you've previously booked a Trinity exam, you may already have an account.
When accessing MyTrinity, you may be asked to select your role and complete the appropriate profile.
You can use your existing recognised account details rather than creating a separate login.
If you are a teacher make sure you add a teacher profile to your account to allow to book and invite other candidates to exams.
